The type of competitive activity "knife fight" began to develop on the international stage for the first time since 2013.

The total number of people involved in the discipline of "knife fighting" is more than 10,000 people worldwide.

The first international competitions in the type of competitive activity "knife fight" were held in 2013 with the participation of 5 countries. Athletes from 10 countries took part in 2023, and athletes from 15 countries took part in 2024. Athletes from 18 countries took part in 2025.

In February 2022, the International Association of Sports Knife Throwing (IACMN) was established in the city of Belgrade (Republic of Serbia).

Andrey Trokhov, President of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Public Organization "Sports Knife Throwing", was elected president of the International Association of Sports Knife Throwing.

After the establishment of the International Association of Sports Knife Throwing, it was proposed to introduce a new competitive activity into the program of international competitions, after which the training of athletes in this competitive activity began.

As of today, the International Knife Throwing Association has more than 30 representative offices on different continents of the world.
